What we do (where the magic happens!)

Why business-grade beats “brand-new budget”

If you’re choosing between a refurbished business laptop and a brand-new bargain-bin model, performance and longevity almost always favour business-grade.

Business-grade (e.g., 11th/12th-Gen i7, 16GB RAM, 512GB NVMe):

    • Fast multi-core CPUs designed for real workloads

    • 16GB+ RAM so apps don’t crawl (OPEN ALL THE CHROME TABS!!!)

    • NVMe SSD (proper solid-state performance)

    • Built for durability and repairability

    • Windows 11 Pro for enterprise control, programming and security.

    • Enterprise components, better thermals, longer lifespan

“Brand-new budget” (e.g., Celeron, 4GB RAM, 128GB eMMC):

    • Entry-level CPUs that bottleneck quickly

    • 4GB RAM = constant slowdowns (maybe 1 tab open in Chrome… maybe… )

    • eMMC storage behaves more like phone memory than a true SSD

    • Windows 11 Home – as basic as it comes. No hardening, or high-level security

    • Often glued, sealed, or not worth repairing

    • Short usable life, fast landfill, literal built in obsolescence!

Bottom line: A quality refurbished business laptop will run rings around a similarly priced “new” budget or consumer model—and it’s far better for the planet. Oh, and pricing is usually about the same or better!

 

 

Our no-upsell promise

You’ll never cop pressure for junk add-ons.

    • No scareware antivirus sales. Realistically, all you need nowadays is up-to-date Microsoft Defender, which comes with Windows 11

    • No extended-warranty hard sell. In Australia, ACL (Australian Consumer Law) already protects you when products aren’t of acceptable quality – you don’t need it!

    • No scripted “fixes”. Real diagnostics, real repairs, real transparency.

    • The price is the price. It won’t double by the time you get to the counter to pay for it with dodgy upsells and “you really, really, really need this!!!”

 

 

How a refurb/repair here actually works

    • Assess – We diagnose properly and explain the options in plain English.

    • Approve – You choose repair, upgrade, or replace—with clear pricing.

    • Remake – Clean, re-paste, reseat, and replace parts as needed.

    • Reinstall & Tune – Fresh OS, drivers, sensible security, performance tweaks.

    • Test – Burn-in and functional checks so it just works when you get it home.

 

Pay-what-you-can repairs

If you’re facing hardship, tell us. We’ll prioritise a safe, working device over profit. Where possible we’ll use donated parts, community-funded spares, and sliding-scale labour. No judgement—just help.

If you want something a bit creative built or made, like Linux, or Proxmox Virtual Environment, or build and host your own AI model, or trying to find a way to make A work with Z, we can absolutely do it for you. Buuuuut, we’d prefer if you did it yourself! We’ll be right there with you in our workshop, and we can teach you and help you learn how to build it yourself. There are soooooo many crazy rabbit holes to go down with ICT gear, we’d love to be able to support you along on that journey.
