For businesses and organisations

E-waste collection and recycling

We collect unwanted IT equipment from businesses and organisations across the Hunter. What can be reused is refurbished; everything else is dismantled locally and sent to Australian recyclers.

E-waste figures for FY2024/25

Processed in FY2024/25

  • 81.2tonnes of ICT equipment processed
  • 77.2tonnes recycled
  • approx. 4tonnes refurbished

What we collect

IT equipment of all kinds

We offer pickup and drop-off for a wide range of IT-based e-waste, including:

  • Computers
  • Laptops
  • Printers
  • Networking equipment
  • Data storage devices
  • Other IT equipment

We work with businesses, government and community organisations, and don't accept household e-waste. For household e-waste, Recycling Near You lists drop-off points by suburb.

Data-bearing devices are sanitised in line with NIST SP 800‑88 Rev. 2 before anything else happens to them. How secure data destruction works.

How collection works

Collection that fits around your organisation

We offer on-site collection solutions tailored to the needs of each customer.

Bins and cages on site

We can provide bins or cages for your site to fill over time, and pick them up when they're full.

Pickup or drop-off

We collect from your premises, or you can drop equipment off to us at 150 Maitland Road, Mayfield NSW 2304.

Urgent removals

If you need equipment removed or data destroyed urgently, we can arrange it on an as-required basis.

Where it goes

Reuse first, then recycled through Australian recyclers

Everything we collect is weighed in on calibrated floor scales and handled in our Mayfield workshop. If equipment can be refurbished and reused, it is; getting further use out of a device is more energy efficient than stripping it down for its materials. Refurbished devices go to people in need through local not-for-profit and charitable organisations.

What can't be reused is dismantled into material streams and weighed out to our downstream recyclers: Mint Bio in Smithfield, Australian Metal Recyclers in Rutherford and InfraBuild in Hexham.

But I have a managed services provider?

That's fine; there's no conflict. Most managed services providers aren't set up for e-waste: equipment at the end of its service life, or not worth repairing. That's the part we handle. If your provider has already wiped the devices, we still sanitise every data-bearing device again before anything else happens to it.

Got a comms room that looks like this?

Chances are you have an ICT room full of old gear that hasn't seen the light of day in years. We'll clear it, deal with the data and document every step.
